This morning  Plein Air Austin met at Krause Springs for our weekly paintout.  The second I saw this wader I knew I had  found my subject.  I had to sketch her quickly, delighting in the way her swimsuit repeated the ripples around her!

  1. This turned out great Robert!!! So simple and fresh -glad I get to see it. Thanks again for organizing – it was a great location.

  2. I love the way you handled the shadows and reflections on her body. Really nice!

  3. This has a wonderful spontaneity to it. The pose creates a tension as though she is about to dive into the water and out of view. Great work, Robert.

  4. Robert,

Your skills are amazing. So many painters could only hope for painting a scene like this from a photograph. That you painted this in the moment is a testament to your eye for composition and your talent for sketching. The ripples, the shape of the figure, and the perfect variations in skin tone all make this a remarkable work. Bravo.
